Why do we need fundraising at CSLA?
Fundraising is a way for CSLA members to help the club in a very real way.
Like many clubs, CSLA offers its swimmers opportunities to travel as a team to important competitions: meets like Team Champs, Quebec Cups, Provincial and National Meets for the older swimmers as well as Development meets, Aquafête du Carnaval and Championships for the younger swimmers.
Travel is expensive so the funds raised can ensure that the cost is never prohibitive for members and guarantees maximum participation for all.
Team travel is something that swimmers look forward to in their competitive season. It is an opportunity to swim in some incredible pools around the province and beyond as well as to deepen the bonds of team mates.
If we all contribute a little bit to the fundraising effort, everyone wins!
Some special events at CSLA are planned as both fun events but with an opportunity to raise funds built into the fees associated with attending those events. These events will sometimes go towards the team travel or may be designated as fundraisers for additional events that benefit the swimmers. Come out and support these events for the fun that they offer you and your family!
This kind of fundraising may be targeted towards specific needs of the club and will involve member volunteers contacting businesses who may support the club in myriad ways from providing food donations for swim meet hospitality, providing complementary items that can be distributed to all swimmers or providing funds to help reduce the cost of certain equipment purchases that each swimmer will have to make. This kind of fundraising takes time and special people who have the right contacts.
